Hey lovely humans, welcome to It's Tiff Designs! I'm Tiffany, the creative spirit behind this brand, and I'm thrilled to share a piece of my world with you.
Our Core Values: Fashion trends often drive our world and influence our identities, but many of us don't resonate with just one unique style. The dream behind It's Tiff Designs was to create pieces that could fit a variety of different people at their coreβpieces that speak to you as an individual and make you feel seen in a world full of unique individuals.
Personal Journey: There was a time in my life when I felt like I was living without the spark that once painted my world in color. Each day seemed to blur into the next, and I realized I was no longer listening to my dreams or whims. I missed the joy of helping others and the fulfillment that came from being creative. It was during this period of reflection that I decided it was time to refocus on what truly mattered to me. That decision reignited my passion for creating, and I channeled it into crafting pieces that could speak to others who might be feeling the same wayβpieces that resonate on a deeper level and help bring a little color back into their world.
Vision for the Future: Over the next few years, I want to continue to grow and re-evaluate our business model to stay true to the heart of our brand. We've reached our 1-year goal within 6 months, which has been a surreal and magical experience. I would love to see our products succeed not just through in-person sales, but by establishing our main platform through online sales. This way, we can reach a broader audience in need of some color and whimsy in their lives. My wish is to grow to a place where we can hire staff who not only love what they do but could really use the job in this uncertain economy.
Customer Connection: I want our customers to look through our products and find pieces that make them feel seen. Whether you're a music-loving, wine-drinking mathematician or a fitness enthusiast with a heart for art, there are no rules here that say you have to be mainstream or not. We're all individuals, at the end of the day, just wanting to belong to something. With our products, I hope people find items that make them feel unique but can also connect them to their people when they're out in the world.
Community Involvement: Though we are still a small business and can't contribute monetarily very often to local causes, we still find ways to give back. One of our favorite things to do is carry around a box of our products to give out randomly to someone who could use a smile in their day. At the end of the year, our goal is to gift sets of our jewelry to a local shelter so people can choose something to wear for themselves. We also donate our products to local silent auctions, most recently contributing to the Autism Society, which a friend was involved with in the U.S. As we grow, we look forward to and are committed to helping more, but until then, it remains a driving force behind our work!
A Day in My Life: My day starts early so I can do some chores around the house and spend time with our five 'indoor animals' (yes, there are outdoor animals tooβtwo chickens and three goats!). My studio space is located in a studio apartment near my house, where I do all things It's Tiff Designs. Itβs where you'll see most of our content is filmed, bookkeeping is done, and products are created! In the evenings, you will find me nestled up between my husband or my dog, where we will be watching the latest episode of Below Deck (any of them) and playing Sims on my computer.
Challenges and Triumphs: I think we've been very lucky in this area to not have too many challenges in our business. The main hurdle we faced as a business was finding the courage to restart after years off and slightly shifting our focus from wooden signs to wooden jewelry. Life had thrown some pretty tough curveballs our way, including the loss of my parents and uncle, but we managed. A significant triumph has been still moving through my fear of starting from scratch and stepping out of the safety of what I like to call my 'hobbit hole.' I reached the goal of getting into my first craft fair, first stores, and then got into some really large markets I thought were years off before I could get accepted to them. Now, as we continue to navigate what our lives look like, this business has provided a joy and purpose that was sorely lacking amidst such heartbreaking losses.
Creative Inspirations: From looking at the beginning products we created, you can tell I definitely lean toward the mystical side of creating. I often find inspiration from childhood dreams, my friends, the different lifestyles people lead, and the fantasy books I read.
Memorable Moments: Some of my most memorable moments include seeing the excitement and support of my loved ones when I decided to restart my business and move into jewelry making. Their tangible and audible excitement over what our future holds has been such a blessing. Iβve had people tell me they pierced their ears just to wear my earrings, and I had the honor of helping a little girl pick out her first set of earrings for school the following year. I love getting to see people choose something for themselves and then immediately think of a loved one who would adore something from the shop too. We truly have the best customer base around!
Fun Facts: I think something extra quirky about me is that I'm actually very scared of butterflies and pretty much any flying bug there is. This is why you'll currently only see one bug in our collections, which was created for a very close friend of mine. Iβm building the nerve to hopefully create some buggy pieces for our bug lovers out there, but thatβs a dilemma Iβm not going to worry too much about until spring of 2025! I also love food and will try just about anything once. I studied kinesiology and dietetics in university, and though I love my current job more than I ever thought was possible, I still think about going back to take a course here or there while I get to run It's Tiff Designs. Life is limitless!
Thank You: Thank you for stopping by and supporting a woman-owned business. Whether you're shopping for a gift or something special for yourself, I hope you find pieces that resonate with you and bring a bit of joy into your life.
Stay magical,
xoxo
Tiff!
